But the fun is only getting started when his friends ride in on a dump truck, steamroller, and excavator. Come join these kindhearted friends for an amazing day of construction adventure!
Kids are absolutely fascinated with work trucks. They push them around the floor, across the top of furniture, and move them across walls. They take them outside to have fun in the dirt and sand. When they see construction vehicles in real life, their eyes become as big as saucers, much like the young child (Luke) in The Day I Had a Bulldozer.
Luke and his best friend and canine companion, Bobo, were excited to discover a bulldozer outside their home with Luke's name on it. They immediately put on their safety helmets and took it for a joyride where they met up with Noah in his dump truck. Noah will inform young minds how much his vehicle can hold. The amount might amaze preschoolers and kindergartners.
Young listeners will learn the names of four construction vehicles: bulldozer, dump truck, steamroller, and excavator. Through fantastic storytelling, children will learn the purpose behind each work vehicle and the importance of carefully handling them. You should never operate one without proper training and practice, or you might flatten something like Mikey did when he "smooshed the swings flatter than a piece of paper." Instructing kids never to climb on any motorized machine or enter a work zone without adult supervision is an important safety lesson to pass along.Â
That said, I adored The Day I Had a Bulldozer. Children will love watching the diverse cast build a road to the ice cream parlor. They might even ask for a cool treat when finishing the last page. It did make me hunger for a chocolate-dipped ice cream bar.Â
I recommend The Day I Had a Bulldozer for children one and older. The story centers around a toy box staple, construction trucks, making this a home run hit with young children! Â

I've been constructing reviews for over a decade and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Most of the reviews will be featured on my blog (Kam's Place), Pinterest, Instagram, BlueSky, and Goodreads. Don't forget to tip your waitress! :D
