Since the abduction and murder of her daughter Candace in 1984, Wilma Derksen has won numerous awards, such as the Association Restorative Justice Award, the Nellie Award and the Order of Manitoba. It was her dream of a safe place for all victims that inspired Candace House in Winnipeg, Manitoba
