I tried to add this review on Reedsy but it isn't sticking - so I added it on Amazon Canada. As a child, every evening my father would read books to my sister, brother and I. To this day I can remember the characters in the Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings and other classics. Dr. Bush's tale is one that will be remembered by generations to come. Like the classics it can be appreciated by six-year-olds as well as by those willing to uncover the links with religious history and the tumult of ages gone. If you have a child 5-8 years old, buy this book and read it to them. They will love it! One can see how the experiences of the author, as a doctor in palliative care, an adventurer and a student of religious history have brought together the different realms of his life that, on the surface, is a book written for children — but more significantly is the starting point for discussions about the meaning of life journeys. The author's creative journey has parallels with mine that I recount in my just-published nonfiction book How to Understand Everything. Consilience a New Way to See the World. And so I appreciate it all the more. The illustrations help bring the book to life for young readers. One quibble is that the ebook has random spaces in words - a consequence, I suppose, of the ease of self-publishing on Amazon.

Momentum is building. The book is prompting wonderful discussions with readers about "neuronal symphonies." One just wrote: "Take it one chapter at a time, then pause to let it sink in. Sleep on it. Finish it. Make your friends read it. Discussing it will enrich your Zoom socials much more effectively than swapping lockdown platitudes (again). This is a very, very long way from dip-in dip-out philosophy and shallow life advice." — C. H. Tomkinson
Thanks for completely rewriting your review Maryam. It contains new ideas that I believe are on point. And thank you for the five stars.
