over 3 years agoFinished Book 1. What a fun and delightful story filled with pirate adventures set on a beautiful coastline full of trees, rocky shores, open waters and sunset skies. The animal characters come alive in this captivating story of Anforth the racoon and his band of animal friends; each with a definite viewpoint and worldview. It has all the elements of stories I loved as a kid (and now!): hidden treasures, pirates, a drowned city, and more. In the background of the narrative is the perplexing question of a humanity that has left the area generations ago. Why? What happened? Where are they? Each chapter ends with a cliffhanger to keep us going, and the story is ripe for another adventure for Anforth and his friends! The illustrations are beautifully rendered and add to the narrative. I highly recommend this adventurous story and have just begun Book 2!
