While many avid readers and authors fell head over hills in love with Fifty Shades Trilogy Billionaire, Christian Grey, I was falling hopelessly in love with the demanding, authoritive, rich, intolerable, and dangerously sexy, Gideon Cross. Sylvia Day really knocked it out of the park with this entire book series.  When I first laid my eyes on Bared to You, a book gathering dust on a bookshelf in my family home, I didn't have high hopes. I had read many reviews comparing it to Fifty Shades, and while Fifty Shades had made a name for itself and was a hit in its time, I wasn't all too thrilled to read a book that was similar because, well, I've read that type of story before. It took the excitement away.  I bit the bullet and decided one day that today would be the day I read the Crossfire Series. I turned the first page and there I was, reading the first chapter. I was introduced to the novel's main character, Eva Tramell, and I liked her from the beginning. She was young, in her mid twenties, and she was sassy with a really great sense of humour. Eva works for an established company housed in the infamous Crossfire building. Dum Dum Dum! She enjoys her job tremendously, and she is an all-round, really exceptional employee with outstanding work colleagues and a boss who isn't all that much older than her, so they get along well, too. Life is just peachy for Eva. She feels on top of the world.  One morning, she goes out of a jog and finds herself in front of the Crossfire, staring up at the mammoth building, wondering how she got there. Not long after, she finds herself inside, running smack bang into a woman, the contents of said woman's handbag flying all over the show. Eva feels like a tart for running into the poor woman, cursing herself to be more careful.  She helps collect the distraught woman's belongings as the poor lady huffs and puffs. Eva reaches for something in front of her just as a figure lowers to their haunches, doing the same, reaching for the items, and... (insert meet-cute)  That's when Eva gets the breath knocked right out of her by none other than, you guessed it, GIDEON CROSS! My goodness... Eva practically salivates at the feet of the man who reigns undeniable power and exudes a confidence that could be a detriment to her health. She stares up at Gideon in a complete daze, her mind conjuring up illicit and lustful thoughts of the dark and dangerous presence towering over her who she has never seen until that day.  Eva's life is turned upside down as Gideon Cross makes it his mission to reel Eva in to his dark and dangerous, lust-filled, illicit ways. Eva can't seem to stay away from him, and, well, you'll have to read Bared to You to get the rest of the saucy details 😉 Eva thinks their encounter was completely innocent and happened by chance.  Eva has a past of her own she keeps hidden from the rest of the world, and so does Gideon Cross. Their lives have been anything but perfect, and that soon takes a toll on their relationship. With that being said, their story is one that will stick with me forever, and the Crossfire Series is a book series that I could read over and over, and over again because they are both such powerful characters that overcome a hell of a lot despite their pasts and present demons.  Be prepared to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster throughout this entire series. You're going to laugh, you're going to cry. You'll be angry, you'll be sad, and you're going to root for them both despite their questionable morals and ways. No relationship is perfect, but you can fight for each other despite what life throws at you. This book had me hooked from chapter one, and I read the entire 5-book series in the space of two weeks because I was just THAT madly in love with the both of them. The Crossfire series cannot be compared to Fifty Shades. The storyline is both trilling, and ridiculously humorous with endless amounts of hanky Panky that could make anyone's skin heat with undeniable desire. Don't read this series in public, because you're going to sweat, and no one needs suspicious eyes on them while they're reading an entire chapter of how Gideon is breaking Eva's mind and body using his talented, you know... hands, and... and... 😈 If you haven't read Bared to You or the Crossfire Series, then this is your sign to do it! You will not regret it and I guarantee that you'll be head over heels for them both from the very beginning.

Cover reveal for my debut novel, Birds of a Feather. This will be the first edition in the Dangerous Affection Series, the book series that aims to bring you a series of stand-alone erotic romance fiction novels to read in whichever order you prefer. I'm a panster, so I enjoy writing as I go along. Plotting and planning just simply isn't the way for me. I like to surprise myself as well by how my characters develop throughout my stories. As it stands now, Birds of a feather might have a sequel. It could very much even become a trilogy - but that all depends on how the story plays out and how it'll end. I have an overall idea of key scenes and how I'd like the novel to end, but my fingers keep typing out words and scenarios that keep building the story and I'm afraid I might not be able to stop. SEND HELP. One very important factor to note is that I will write my erotic romance fiction under the pseudonym Trix Valkyrie. My more PG13 romance stories will be written under my legal name, Karissa Le Roux. Thank you for joining me on my journey as a new writer LotsOfLove Karissa / Trix xoxo
