Joan Copeland

In her mid-40s, Joan Barnes Copeland began writing stories of her 1960s chaotic family life on a North Carolina hardscrabble tobacco farm. These stories are published in her memoir Twelve Sweetpotatoes: Escaping from a Carolina Soap Opera. She is a member of the North Carolina Writer's Network.
