over 2 years agoSo very thrilled with this review from Katherine, thank you! River Witch is set where I live in the beautiful Forest of Dean on the banks of the Severn, in SW England. The Romans called the Severn Sabrina, goddess; we do have a sacred well as described in the book; and the town of Shiphaven is an easily recognisable village here which was once a thriving river port. The book is inspired by the true tale of a woman tried for witchcraft locally in 1906 - yes, 1906! It's a dark place, the Forest - and we rather like it like that!
