Reasonable motivation for the negative emotions between Haunalyn and Sneighd (that's Sneed, in case you were wondering) is that Haunalyn is a spoiled brat, pure and simple. She doesn't like answering to anybody. She doesn't like sharing her ship or being in the mess she's in. She's jealous of the way Impa seems to mix right in. I think I will make this stronger in book 2.

I just finished Hunt for the Tiger, my new book that has been scrutinized with a fine tooth comb and hopefully, will contain no errors as sadly, did the last book.   The Hunt for the Tiger is the first book in the Tao and Lee Wong Mystery series. The cousins haven't seen each other in nearly two decades when Tao's parents immigrated to America from Hong Kong and were shortly afterward murdered in their newly opened store in Chinatown, San Francisco. Orphaned at the age of eight, raised in foster homes, and abandoned by his father's family in Hong Kong, Tao became an introverted, driven homicide detective for the San Francisco Police Department nicknamed the Tiger. Tao is investigating a series of murders of young women when he is ambushed in a near fatal shooting that leaves him with a traumatic head injury and fighting his way back to life. Lee Wong, living in New York City, a captain of a fire station in the Chinatown district, rescues a young woman from an apartment fire that is part of a rash of arsons and murders keeping him and his men, and the fire department of New York City, busy. He finds himself intrigued and begins to fall in love with her but she has a secret that is keeping her afraid and in hiding. Lee is determined to discover what the menace she fears is when he is sidetracked by a newscast of the shooting in San Francisco of a detective. Lee is stunned to learn that detective is his lost cousin, Tao, and he leaves immediately to see Tao in the hospital. Lee returns to New York City accompanied by a recuperating Tao. The two men are as different as night and day, and Lee finds himself wanting to protect his obstinate cousin who fights him at every turn.  It isn't long before Tao discovers Lee is being watched, and Tao recognizes the person stalking his cousin. The person is the killer that Tao was investigating for the murders in San Francisco. Tao discovers the woman Lee is seeing is a material witness to the murders that Tao and his fellow detectives have been looking for, and the two cases become intertwined. Despite the residual effects of the near fatal ambush, Tao renews his investigation and tracks down the person responsible for both cases. The finale results in an explosive confrontation between the Tiger and his enemy. Hunt for the Tiger, previously titled Without Warning, was vanity press printed as a gift to me from my late husband. Sadly, the book wasn't ready for publication, and sadly, it was John's last gift to me as he past away from cancer shortly before the books arrived. He never even got to see the book. Seventeen years later, I decided to finish the book as it should have been, and after months of revision and corrections, have sent the completed manuscript to my publisher.  The second in the series, Look Back to Tomorrow, is in print through Kindle Unlimited and will be the only book in the series without Tiger in the title. Book Three: Heart of the Title is in preparation mode with notes all over the place to be put together. So as to avoid confusion, the series begins in 2016 and by book three will be up to the present.  While waiting on word on Hunt for the Tiger, I am going on to my next book A Walk Along the Beach (working title), my next Philip Chandler Mystery.  Book One of that series, Twisting Dagger is available on Kindle, Book Two: No More Heroes is available on Kindle and in print. I hope to have them all in print as well as audio in the near future. It's been a long and difficult three years getting back into my writing. After losing my daddy, my mama, my uncle, my fiance, a newborn great nephew, and several friends to one thing or another, almost losing my home, I have had to work my way through the grief. It hasn't been easy. It seemed like everything happened at once and overwhelmed me. I know there are a lot of others who have faced the same situations over the past two years and I offer them my heartfelt prayers for recovery.  My only support system has been my sister who helped me with the manuscript. I couldn't have had a better proofreader as she catches every mistake. I can't stay down forever. I have to move forward, and I encourage anyone who has faced obstacles in these past two difficult years to keep going forward. We can do it. And I pray for all of us with books in progress or waiting on publishers to be successful in our work. I hope to have good news soon. God bless you all.
Thank you for the review. I'm sort of left scratching my head on whether to laugh or cry. I don't really mind because the book is supposed to be for fun. But thank you anyway. And thank you for the rating. Oh, and Haunalyn is eighteen not seventeen.

About me
Talking about myself is not my strong point. I started writing in grade school, and have written many stories in my lifetime, publishing seven books since 2005. I am Oklahoma born and raised, come from a family of readers, so writing seemed to come natural. No More Heroes is my seventh book.
