Thank you for your interest! I have always been a fan of historical and Biblical fiction, so the decision to write a story about David felt natural. However, most of the stories I’d seen focused on David and Goliath, or David and his mighty men. There was never much attention on Saul. Why did he fail? What can we learn from him? It made me curious to see what his fall would look like. Could we feel sympathy for this man who was, at one point, chosen by God to lead? And so, the idea to write from both David and Saul’s points of view was born.
