over 1 year agoI did not want to write a novel about child abuse but I did want to explore the collateral damage to children by traumatized adults, PTSD resulting from Vietnam is well known. Not so well known are the effects of trauma from World War Two victims still being passed on to the children of the second and the third generation.

Thank you for this review. My one correction is that Uncle Sam never physically examines Jiffy. Part of the tension I hoped to creat was the lurking anticipation of this happening. But no, I did not want to go there. The novel is already creepy enough.
