about 2 years agoElia Kazan's 1954 American crime drama "On the Waterfront" features Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, and Eva Marie Saint. The story of Terry Malloy, a docker in Hoboken, New Jersey, who loses faith in the dishonest union officials and their connections to organised crime is told in the film.
After accidentally luring a coworker to his death, Terry's conscience is stirred, and he decides to join with a crusading priest and the worker's sister to expose the fraud and bring the longshoremen's rights to justice.
The movie is renowned for its potent performances, especially Brando's portrayal of Terry, and for showing the conflict between one's personal morality and devotion to one's peers. It received eight Academy Awards.
