There were two pedophiles in my church. They were smart, never doing any visible damage. It took well into my 30's to understand the psychological damage they had inflicted. It is next to impossible to overcome it.
If the author is able to do so, there is an entire book that could be dedicated to the years of counseling, and the problems with choosing the same type of men over and over again thinking, "This one is different."
