Loved it! 😍

Both success and failure have their limits. Life's experiences—both the good and the bad

Synopsis

Finding success in this thing called “life” can be complicated. Sometimes we’re driven by an insatiable hunger; other times, we drift in life aimlessly looking for purpose. Yet, what appears to be circumstances meant to bury us can become the foundation from which we grow. In life, we grow strong and resilient simply because of our courage to continue through seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

This book is an example of what happens when perseverance becomes less of an admirable quality and more of a way of life. Starvin’ Artist: Hunger for Success is a truly inspirational story of how poverty, violence, and drug abuse ran rampant in underserved minority communities and how those experiences shaped a young Black boy into a successful husband, father, and business owner. Anthony found peace and solace in art. Despite many challenges, Anthony used the adversity of his reality to fuel his hunger for success.

Starvin’ Artist: Hunger for Success is a reminder that everything—every win, every loss, every obstacle, and every mishap—can be a stepping stone to success. This book is a guide for taking life experiences and finding lessons in them and using those lessons to change the trajectory of your life.

Success in this thing we call "life" can be difficult to achieve. Sometimes our motivation comes from an unquenchable appetite, while other times we wander aimlessly through life in search of meaning. However, what initially seems to be circumstances designed to bury us can instead serve as the groundwork for our growth. We become strong and resilient in life simply because of the courage it takes to keep going in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges.

This book serves as an illustration of what happens when tenacity ceases to be a commendable trait and instead becomes a way of life. A young Black boy's struggles with poverty, violence, and drug misuse turned him into a successful husband, father, and businessman in Starvin' Artist: Hunger for Success, a book that is incredibly inspirational.

Anthony discovered consolation and comfort in art. Anthony overcame several obstacles by using the adversity of his situation to feed his desire for success.

The book Starvin' Artist: Hunger for achievement serves as a reminder that anything can serve as a springboard for achievement, including victories, defeats, obstacles, and mishaps. This book is a how-to manual for using the lessons you learn from your experiences to alter the course of your life.

Both success and failure have their limits.

Anthony S. Walden describes his childhood growing up in a difficult neighborhood, living with his parents and brother, discovering his passion for art, attending art school, and eventually starting his own business, as well as all the obstacles and inspiration along the way. The entire book is interactive, and it has the effect of the author speaking to the reader rather than merely at them. You are drawn in by the writing's manner since it seems so intimate. The reader is welcomed into the lessons that have aided Anthony Walden in his success in his career and in life, in addition to learning a lot about him personally and who he is as a person. Looking outside of your current box is perhaps one of this book's most important teachings.

Walden establishes early on in this book that he was raised in a challenging neighborhood in the US's District of Columbia (DMV), however he wasn't always aware of this until he looked back. In essence, it's challenging to think outside of the box when you're unaware that you're inside of one. This strikes me as one of the most interesting ideas since it encourages critical self-reflection and self-awareness. How frequently do we find ourselves in boxes and are unable to recognize it? The author examines how life's experiences—both the good and the bad—can teach us valuable lessons. While Walden acknowledges that it can be simple to concentrate on the downsides, he also exhorts the reader to try to learn from them, also advises the reader to find lessons in every situation, which struck me as a reader as being very tragic. This book is full with significant lessons that, in my opinion, may be applied by a wide range of people from many different backgrounds and career trajectories.
