Three cheers go out to the lovely illustrations and the sweet story. What a lovely book!
Little Moe, a young goose, faced a challenge regarding flying. Despite his best efforts, he struggled to take off and felt left behind as his family and friends migrated south for the winter.
With the winter season fast approaching, Little Moe's fear of flying intensified. However, his mother remained supportive, promising not to leave him behind. As the leaves began to change, Little Moe realized he needed to overcome his fear and learn to fly.
Will Little Moe's determination overcome his trouble in learning to fly? Or will he be left behind to have to defend for himself in the harsh winter?
As the seasons change, we watch birds soaring overhead en route to warmer temperatures. We put little thought into what it takes to make this important flight. Little Moe is a goose having difficulty getting his webbed feet off the ground. Moe flapped, fluttered, and floundered, but he failed in lift-off, unlike his two siblings. Moe's siblings teased him and dubbed him "Slow Moe." They reminded him of all his past shortcomings, such as riding on their momma's back in the water. Their words affected his self-confidence like they would a human.
Moe's siblings didn't offer support or encouragement, but his momma goose did. As the seasons changed and leaves turned brilliant red, orange, and gold, momma goose never left Moe's side or gave up on him. When snow began to fall, Moe's heart ached. He knew he had to learn to fly before all the flocks were gone for winter.
Push came to shove, and Moe went airborne. He was ecstatic, and so was his mom. She remarked, "I always knew you could." Her encouragement, love, and support meant the world to the small gosling. The adult waterfowl reminded human parents how we should treat our kids as well.
This story emphasizes the importance of not giving up and how practice is essential to mastering any craft. It also shows a parent goose's love and support for its offspring.
Three cheers go out to the lovely illustrations (artist: Emily Hercock) and the sweet story created by Pria Dee! You two developed a book that kids and adults will adore and read often.
I recommend the book to children three years and older. I also recommend reading the pages devoted to "Learn About Geese." Readers will learn valuable information like when goslings grow gray feathers like their parents, why they honk, where parents build their nest, and why, and more. This area also has ten real-life geese images you won't want to miss!
I've been constructing reviews for over a decade and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Most of the reviews will be featured on my blog (Kam's Place), Pinterest, Instagram, Goodreads, and X (formerly Twitter.) Don't forget to tip your waitress! :D
