Here in Florida, when you live here, the first question when you meet someone, is invariably, "where are you from originally?" My name is Joe, Joe from Buffalo,I was living in my uddy's basement, no heat, in winter, in Buffalo, for God's sakes. How did I get here, what happened? How did I get to this low point, both figuratively and literally? Oh sure, i am a hearty native,lived here most of my life., put up with the long, extensive winters, the frozen lakes, and ponds for almost 50 years, and what did I have to show for it? Lifelong friendships were made here, got married here, had kids here,but I don't know anything else, so I guess it is what it is.

Not so much an issue with the book... I just don't think it was something for me

It makes me so sad to only be giving this book a 2 star rating as I always try to give more positive reviews as I know how much hard work and dedication goes into the writing of a book and I would not want to dimish that but unfortunately this book just really was not for me.
I found that it took me a long time to read this book because I just didn't find myself feeling enthused enough about it to read.
Maybe the writing style just didn't gel with me which is likely to have caused some enhanced feelings of boredom whilst reading it.
I found the plot to be somewhat interesting as a premise but I felt that within myself I just was not interested in finding out what was happening next.
Maybe the setting also just wasn't for me as I could not relate to any of the story being from the United Kingdom and this book being set around the United States of America and Florida.
The messages that the book was portraying were nice and I could see the amount of time and effort that this author put into this story. You could feel that he put his whole heart into the book, which is why I'm so sad to have to say that I just didn't connect with the story as I really hoped that I would.
One thing that I would absolutely recommend to any reader is despite my review, to still give this a book a go as I take full responsibility for why I gave the book a 2 star rating and think that for the right reader, this book will be an absolute masterpiece and I would like to encourage others to read and find out for themselves.
