The children's book has a creative, fun, interactive plot with vibrant illustrations! It's a brilliant read from start to finish!
Colorful County is a vibrant and cheerful place where crayons live, but today something is afoot! Pretty Pink has baked a wonderful cake for Mellow Yellow’s birthday party, but it has been stolen from her bakery. A key lead involves various color mixtures, teaching children about color combinations. Can Detective Stan find the culprit and save the party before it’s too late?
Detective Stan the Crayon Man and the Missing Birthday Cake possesses several positive attributes that'll make this a smash hit with parents and children.
First, teaching colors can become tiresome. The off-used point-and-recite method is dull. This storybook makes learning colors fun and exciting. Children will be so engrossed in the who stole the cake mystery they'll forget they are learning. And, what better way to learn colors than to follow Stan as he helps Pretty Pink locate the culprits who ran off with her freshly baked cake with extra sprinkles from her bakery.
As readers watch Stan question every suspect, readers will discover who has an alibi and who doesn't. Readers might speculate who they think is being truthful and who they believe is the sweet treat napper. Stan's hunt for clues provides another educational moment when he stumbles upon a particular color. I will not disclose this color since it proves to be a key piece of evidence in the mystery.
Detective Stan the Crayon Man and the Missing Birthday Cake teaches young readers their colors. It allows them to problem-solve and put their detective skills in motion. Plus, it provides life lessons. When you make a mistake, you need to take steps to rectify it. Apologize. Find a way to make a situation better, smooth over hurt feelings. That might include replacing something of (emotional or financial) value to someone else. Also, it would be best to always listen to your parents when they ask you to clean your room.
I recommend Detective Stan the Crayon Man and the Missing Birthday Cake by Christine Tussing to children three years and up. It has a creative, fun, interactive plot. The illustrations by Izzy Bean are vibrant, with each crayon having its own unique look. Plus, Stan and his cape are adorable! It's a brilliant read from start to finish!
I've been constructing reviews for over a decade and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Most of the reviews will be featured on my blog (Kam's Place), Pinterest, Instagram, BlueSky, and Goodreads. Don't forget to tip your waitress! :D
