I, along with my editor and illustrator, are especially grateful to announce that our 57-page book Bias Is All Around You has won a silver medallion in the 2022 Nautilus Book Awards, young adult nonfiction category! The prestigious awards venue seeks books that help instill wisdom, promote spiritual growth, and social change. We were among other prominent 2022 winners in other categories such as Dr. Jane Goodall, Cicely Tyson, and Astronaut Nicole Stott. Past recipients have included Judy Collins, Deepak Chopra, Mariel Hemmingway, and David Pelzer, for example. We will be displaying our book at the 2022 American Library Association Conference as well as the U.S. Book Show in New York later this year.
We all have biases. How do your biases affect the way you interpret and interact with information in social media and news stories? Take this quick pole and be honest. With a new year upon us, knowledge is power, and it can serve to safeguard your mental health! Stay tuned as I share more on what the results may mean.
