John Wheatley – Hi Paul. Thank you for the very kind and thoughtful review of The Exile's Daughter. I was very pleased with it. However, I was a little surprised by the line about substandard editing. I have since run spelling and grammar check on the manuscript, and of the 129 spelling error count, 128 were Welsh, place names, German places and Polish words. It looks bad at first sight but in fact the high count is very misleading. If you tell me the errors you found were not these, then I will accept that, of course, and go back to do a further edit. Thanks. John Wheatley

Paul Preziosi – Hi, John. I'm glad you liked my review. The book was certainly a pleasure to read. As far as the proofreading is concerned, none of the place names were a problem. The typos I was running into were the kind that a spell checker would have a hard time finding, such as misspelling the word you clearly intended to use so that it just looks like another word. I could provide a few examples if you like. There weren't many of these small errors in the early chapters, but they grew more numerous as I read on, and I felt I had to make a brief comment about this in the review. I can edit that comment a bit to make the tone more benign. If you have any other questions or comments about the review, please feel free to let me know. Thank you, John.
