I think I am hooked, however I genuinely can't tell you why π€ Maybe there is too many nostalgic consequences....
Okay, so book 2 of whatever this saga consists of.
Darcy and Tory are still dealing with arsehole Heirs and their Fanclubs, shocked........NO.
They are also dealing with the Hiers arsehole family members, is this a surprise, NO!
What events have caused me a level of shock or unexpected twists in this book.....
NONE.
What I found really frustrating (this might be the wrong description) was how many similarities Pitball has to Quidditch. This part, made me angry, mainly because the story so far has been showing a willingness to be unique. At this point, by the way I'm at 450ish pages of a 533 page story!
Yeah the sexual tension increases however, that shouldn't be considered an acceptable excuse for such an extensive world, that comes with the Zodiac Academy. Seriously, the fantastical approach so far for this saga has been extensive but enjoyable, so I am sad about this bit.
I'm also feeling frustrated with the twins, I get that their mortal upbringing makes them a system of their experience but these Heirs are vile. STOP FALLING FOR WOLVES IN SHEEPS CLOTHING.
For me, its infuriating watching them make the same mistakes over and over again......
What I will give the author credit for, is the plot continues to develop from The Awakening into this book, Ruthless Fae. As a reader you don't miss anything but I would remind the reader, that the 1st book covers the twins experience in their 1st and (overstretching) 2 weeks in the academy. This seems excessive but I do understand that the story needs to progress........God forbid if there was too much filler narrative. The author would of definitely have lost at least 3/4 of their audience at this point.
I do enjoy the cheeky characteristics of supporting characters such as Diego, Sophia and Grendaline..... as they develop and adapt to support the twins since book 1.
I thought the Heirs were the absolute worse, however Stella and Lionel, are a million times worse, that doesn't make the Heirs deserve any less of my scorn. SCREW THE HEIRS AND THE CELESTIAL COUNCIL PLUS STELLA ORION!
Yet there is hope, the ending of the book quickly recedes all my previously triggered emotions to have me hooked....
Now on to the 3rd installment "The Reckoning".
Hi, I'm Kirsty. I've loved fiction books since I was a young child and reading is my favourite past time. I read manga, fantasy, horror and the occasional bit of spice πΆπΆ.
