Synopsis
If children need to believe that they truly matter, then teaching them positive self-talk is crucial because words have great power. What they say is what they feel, what they feel is how they will behave and how they behave is what they will become.
“You unique little thing” is a book for kids to help them embrace their uniqueness and strengths. Each character in this book cherishes their talents, also while learning to be kind, determined and empathetic. It shows them to pursue their dreams despite failures and obstacles they may face in life.
We need to show children it takes multiple factors such as consistency, faith, passion, hard work etc., to realize their dreams.. Children cannot avoid comparison, failures or self-doubt in life. But through a growth mindset and a positive self-image we can teach them how to handle hurdles as they are presented with them.
Young children are urged to embrace their unique gifts and abilities and follow their dreams in this creative and captivating read by Priya Ram.
Geared toward young readers or listeners, this beautifully illustrated little book takes its audience on a picturesque journey though many options and opportunities, showing readers how to reach their goals or dreams. You may be little, but you are unique and full of potential and promise is the main theme. (You can almost hear the applause and cheers.)
The rhyming text urges readers to reach for their goals and pay no mind to those who try to discourage or dissuade them in so doing. Peaks and valleys toward attaining a desired goal are also charted and graphically illustrated in stair-step fashion. These steps include passion, hard work, talent, belief, resilience, faith, failure, honesty, and kindness. The story is uplifting and inspiring. Each character or concept builds upon or leads into the next.
But that's not all. Attaining a goal is not necessarily an end unto itself in this upbeat and encouraging little book. The story gently points out and emphasizes that reaching a goal is better if the effort includes positive character qualities such as empathy, gratitude, motivation, and kindness.
At just over thirty pages, the storyline is long enough to engage young minds without over-taxing them or straining young attention spans. It would make an excellent read aloud or a reflective way to end the day as a thoughtful bedtime story. There’s also plenty of room for adults to springboard off of some of the concepts highlighted and offer their own constructive input and encouragement to their little ones.
The writing is solid and the tone is positive. Both crackle with energy and effervescence. The book’s colorful illustrations feature children, motion, and imagination and will appeal to young readers and those who love them.
This one’s a winner! I'd grab a copy now 'fize you.
