Loved it! 😍

A high-intensity reverse harem dark romance involving a coven of witches.

The Witchwood Boys Are Trending is the first instalment in the Witchwood Boys series by C.M. Stunich.

This book follows our FMC, Kate, as she finds herself unearthing the secret behind the urban legend surrounding the Witch’s Tree. She soon finds herself trapped in a coven with three male witches who have been awaiting her arrival. The Witchwood Boys Are Trending is your standard reverse harem romance, mixed with horror elements. This is a dark read, so check whether this is a suitable read for you.

Firstly, I enjoyed the plot of this book. The fact that Kate is the sole device which allows the coven to finally escape the forest is so exciting, and as a reader, it is easy to emphasise the position that Kate has been put in and the demand from her. The universe that C.M. Stunich has created is so compelling and so spooky, at points you genuinely fear for the characters’ lives as the forest is not to be messed with. The Hag Wytch is terrifying and such a significant part of the plot, and her threat(s) were evoked very well.

The characters, both our FMC and MMCs were interesting but predictable. There were times when I liked Kate’s personality, where I felt like she was the victim of an awful mistake, but there were instances where she was incredibly stubborn which I found jarring. Brooks, Marlowe, and Tanner come across as incredibly trope-y at times but are still unique enough as individuals. The dynamic between Kate and the coven, and the coven as a whole, is very complicated. They need to work together to escape, but there are times when they can’t stand each other, which is realistic! The dialogue was well done and the character development was welcomed. This book is incredibly smutty, so if that isn’t your thing, I would avoid this series.

I look forward to the next book!
