This book contains an exceptional fairytale! I found it hard to put down.
Gwendolyn Rose gets anything she wants--her father, the king, makes sure of it--but when Gwen sets her eye on the broom of a witch she spies blazing through the sky one night, she gets far more than she bargained for. As expected, her father delivers the broom, but it's true owner has a gift of her own to bestow; one that makes Gwen as stinky on the outside as she is on the inside. Mortified and ashamed, Gwen flees to the refuge of the forest where she learns about self-reliance, humility and courage.
The Stinky Princess, written by J. M. Hofer, is the story of a snotty princess who learns to be content. This remarkable story will help to promote a sense of gratitude and humility in young readers. If you are in the market for stories with this kind of theme, then this book is for you!
Gwendolyn Rose gets anything she wants from her father the king, but when she sets her eyes on a witch's broom, she learns that some things are not for sale. Even so, she complains and whines until she finally gets the broom, but it does her more harm than good! Nevertheless, this process will help Gwendolyn mature into a beautiful young kind woman.
I really enjoyed this story. The plot and characters are well developed. The author's use of rhyming schemes and suspense is exceptional as well. As such, I found this story hard to put down. However, the entire book is written in rhymes, and it is quite a long story. In my humble opinion, I think the author did not need to use rhyming schemes for the entire book because the story is interesting on its own.
Additionally, the pictures are fascinating. The artist appears to be using computer-simulated watercolor paintings. Well done!
In sum, I would encourage buyers of books for young readers to pick up a copy of this book at their local bookstore. The plot and characters are well developed, and the storytelling is remarkably interesting!
