The narrator developed the story through the creative life of the past and its internal and imaginary powers of the main characters.
In her novel The Raven's Trail, Liz D. Marx recovered the magical and romantic impact of ancient cultures in the civil cities through the two main characters: Chloe and Mason. Therefore, she confirmed the hidden activity of the romantic intuition, the magical reality and spiritual powers behind the events and the development of the characters.
Chloe researched for the meanings of the symbols of an old stone with Mason, but they, indeed, researched for the other spiritual side of their rich characters and also the magical and fantastic life of the remains of that old world such as the old stone, the history of Manataka and the imaginary power of Adsila in their consciousness and unconsciousness. Therefore, the narrator developed her events and characters through the discovering of the creative life of the past and the renewed metaphoric and magical powers inside Chloe and Mason.
Moreover, Chloe and Mason fought some loud battles to discover their real existential and cultural identities in that old place and its romantic atmosphere. Consequently, we can see the strong impact of the place in the critical moment of the plot, when the narrator gave Chloe the hidden and old power of Adsila while she was dancing. Therefore, she knew the source of her new magical and natural power through the other internal life of Adsila's spectral image and the energy of the image of the dolphin. Also, Mason recovered his old childhood and his love of Adsila through the old place and the other presence of Chloe. So, he recognized himself when he got the hyper cognition and the hyper power, that he saw some mythical signs such as the raven, the lion and the snake which reflected the power of the recovered ancient world.
Furthermore, the narrator alternated between the modern world, which included the conflicts between some companies and the returning of the romantic world inside the collective unconscious of Mason and Chloe. On the other hand, we can recognize Pamela and Foster in the context of the modern reality and its complex power relationships. Therefore, the narrator supported the multiplicity in the novel structure.
Also, the narrator gave the old signs unique and phenomenological characteristics, that cave reflected the old internal peace and the stone was appeared as an imagined door to the past.
Finally, Liz confirmed that romantic impact of the ancient cultures and the rich sides of human internal life.
