Synopsis

It’s hard for Alex having a brother like Ollie, especially when their family isn’t normal to start with. It’s even harder when their father suddenly disappears leaving Alex to unravel the mystery and deal with Ollie’s meltdowns. But something’s happening with Ollie. He’s making suggestions and decisions—more like a partner than a liability. Together he and Alex must decipher and decode clues; elude and bamboozle their pursuers; outrun and outsmart the kidnappers who’ll stop at nothing to prevent their schemes being exposed.

There, mystery, funny situations, and vivid personalities turn into that very kind of reading that just puts this book in a really privileged position from the very beginning up to the very end.


Among the weird disappearance cases presented officially before him for his afternoon posh tea, he was to solve as a detective-pleasing, sharp-witted-decided to put into play his powers of observation in unraveling the tangled skein of secrets and lies concerning this particular event. What started off as a simple missing person case blossoms into an intricate, many-layered mystery replete with suspects galore, each colored by a certain motive and secret.


Great pacing, and he does a very nice job of keeping interest in the storyline with twists and turns that are surprising yet make sense. Light moments of suspense make it an easy read without getting too dark or heavy. It's a perfect blend of cozy mystery and thrilling investigation.


Character building is vivid and full of life, practically jumping out of the page. The mystery of who that character is, the investigation of this world of upper-class tea drinkers, is so imbued with quirkiness and peculiarity as to make for very interesting reading. Flavorful subsidiary characters add depth and humor to the story, really adding flavor to the tale being narrated.


The real differentiator in "The Mystery of the Missing Tea Drinker" is in the setting. So beautifully has the author etched the picture of this tea estate that almost, one feels themselves walking alongside the detective along the beautifully laid-out gardens and into the grand rooms. All in the details of attention to surroundings, details of culture regarding tea, and even minute clues are what created a greater immersion.


In the end, "The Mystery of the Missing Tea Drinker" is an entertaining, enchanting mystery that will glue readers to every single page right up to the last. A clever plot, likable characters, and an interesting setting would make this book full of five-star points. Special recommendation to cozy mystery amateurs and everybody who is simply after a really entertaining good-quality read.
