A thriller about Agatha Christie, the ultimate writer of dramatic thrillers.
Let me start by saying that I am a Marie Benedict fan. I've read almost all of her books, and I love her style. She has the ability to write with modern terminology while making the prose sound period. It's a skill that has to be hard to master. Every time I read a Marie Benedict book, I feel as though I've been transported into another time and place. That's what I want a book to do for me.
That being said, The Mystery of Mrs. Christie took that to a whole new level. Benedict not only transported me to England in the early 1900's, but she gave me a mystery to solve with plot points, clues and slowly unfolding facts. Even though I knew that Agatha Christie didn't die during her disappearance, I was glued to the pages of the book to discover what the next detail that led up to her disappearing would be. It was a who done it for readers who love a good puzzle about an author that became famous for writing who done its. An amazing concept.
After reading almost all of Marie Benedict's books, I can say without a doubt that this book is easily one of my favorites. My hat is off to the fact that the author once again simply steps into a style and into a time period and gives me a fabulous story to read. That's what I want in a book and Marie Benedict supplies it in abundance.
