Synopsis
When the Great Storm of 1893 leaves fifteen-year-old Gabbie homeless, the only place she can go is to New Orleans to live with strange relatives. On her only other visit there, she heard voices no one else heard. She saw things no one else saw. She pierced the veil that separates the living from the dead. The thought of returning there terrifies her.
Now, she must navigate in a world of superstition, conjure, mystery, and magic. It’s a world where free Creoles of Color with their own high society, elegant young ladies, and dashing young men in uniforms are part of the culture. It's here she learns her paranormal power is a Gift passed down from mother to daughter. The only problem is - she doesn’t want it.
Will that change she when she finds an unexpected love? Or, will it take a malevolent spirit threatening the lives of those she loves? What will propel Gabbie to embrace her Gift and become the person she was born to be?
Countless personalities have existed who have dared to show their talent and who have left their mark in history. In music known as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who in his career left us more than six hundred works, that's a very large amount. The vast majority of us would like to have a masterful talent. In spite of everything, very few people have had gifts like these in the course of all human history. The story I get to read is about the talents of a 15-year-old girl named Gabrielle, where she is learning to become the best version of herself. It is a work full of fantasy, youth and magic. There are multiple avenues to capitalize on personal talent. This proposal is only one of many options to discover, enhance and maintain it. And from my point of view the development of this talent from beyond is very fantastic. I consider myself a fanatic to fantasy, and that is why I can say that this is a story full of magic. From the first page to the last page, I could see the journey of the heroine Gabrielle, their experiences and also, I was able to enjoy all the scenarios that were being built at each step, every time I read a line, I could be connected to the work, because in each word enchanting scenarios were drawn, which allowed me to understand the work in its deepest aspect..And finally, it should be noted that the protagonist of the play, the 15-year-old girl named Gabrielle, is a character that has been well constructed, she is a girl with a firm personality, who always knew with all her emotions to give life to the play. A work full of charm, magic, spell, full of all the necessary components to make a great work of fantasy. It is a work that I recommend reading.
