Must read 🏆

This is a Vietnam-like version of Starship Troopers with time dilation fun

In the same ways that I loved Starship trooper, I love this book too, but for the opposite reasons, this reveals the absurdity of war. Here, Joe Haldeman brings us a peace loving hippy soldier in a war with an alien race that no one can understand. Both sides don't know why they're fighting, just that it takes years, sometimes centuries to fly between battles. So when the hero named Mandella returns to earth, decades or entire generations have passed. It brings an interesting sadness as he asks himself what it is all worth it. Climaxes with a very enjoyable space battle.
