Dual POV, the guy falls first, sorta hate to love, grumpy x sunshine, realistic
I enjoyed reading this one, the premise was very interesting and I loved how Winnie is a teacher who makes STEM videos. I really loved Winnie’s character and found her to be very genuine and even related to her at times.
I LOVED Byron and he is now on my list of amazing book boyfriends. Like hello he is a author who when drunk honestly spews the most beautiful love confessions and is very adorable at times.
I am so glad this book was dual POV. Even though we didn’t get a lot of chapters from Byron’s POV, I really liked reading his POV because it just gave us an insight to this complex and yet sweet and adorable man.
I also liked how there was an element of doing tiktok challenges and I loved the hair dye challenge and found it to be very cute.
I really liked the issues tackled in this book from women in STEM fields to childhood trauma. I loved how they communicated and worked through issues in their relationship and how they learned to trust each other. The character arc was beautiful.
love isn’t love when it enables selfish, destructive behavior. Love isn’t love when it makes excuses for abusive and hurtful choices. It becomes twisted, a perversion. It becomes cowardice.
This is one of my favourite lines from the book aside from the drunken confession from Byron.
“And you are all my sunrises and sunsets, rain on green leaves, fireworks reflected in a smooth lake, and a wood fire on the coldest winter day. You are sex and sin and a guardian angel. You are every beat of my heart and every moment of peace and every hour of pandemonium. You are the sweetest torture I’ve ever known. And you . . . will never feel one tenth for me what I feel for you. And that, also, is perfect.”
*SWOON*
Overall I enjoyed the book but I found it a more lengthy than necessary and it lost me at some parts. So my rating is a 3/5.
