This book was written very well. The story was unique and it kept you interested.
I really liked it, it kept me going and interested. I liked the characters and the mystery. I was left hanging on the end but it is because its part of a series, I think she does that on purpose. I want to read the other books. The characters were well written and I like the heroine very much. There was a surprise at the end that I would have never figured out. I like surprises and endings that leave you with a "whoa that was cool" comment in you breath as you finish the book. It leaves you satisfied but hungry and curious for what is going to happen next.
I also liked that it wasn't too long or complicated as some fantasy can be. The concept was different and intriguing also, not what you usually see in a fantasy book about magic. The relationship with the sorcerer was worked well and you understood what was happening between them without it turning into a romance, but the focus was kept throughout the story. Very good world building.
I am not a reviewer, so its hard for me to write 200 words describing any book. I am an 'I like it or didn't like it' person. With this book I can genuinely say I liked it and would recommend it highly to anyone who was interested In this genre.
Helen spent the beginning of her writing career writing and directing plays for small theatrical events. She also wrote captivating short stories she would tell at fairs. With no lack of imagination she started writing books and publishing on her own. So far she has published seven books.
