Who am I Not?
Pursuing inner peace involves a journey within where we
encounter many of our personal identities that we hold on
to believing them to be a permanent and inseparable part
of us. We approach inner peace by peeling away layer by
layer of these imposters that stand between us and
abiding peace. Consequently, our search for self, the
existential question “Who am I?” is more about
repeatedly discovering “Who am I Not?” during our entire
lifetime here. This book will take a deep dive into our
common identities and reveal their distortions and lies
that destroy our inner peace. As we become deeply aware
of our reality distorting perspectives and carefully observe
the fallout of our clinging attachments, we gain the power
to stop creating suffering for ourselves through our own
misguided words and deeds. But we are still vulnerable to
external misfortunes and catastrophes that often affect
our tranquility. Facing these consciously and responsibly
ensures that we guard our inner peace against external
turmoil too. We are now equipped to live our life with
inner strength and enduring equanimity.
Who am I?
In our twilight years as we become aware of our
approaching end, the question “Who am I?” becomes
more relevant. Ignorance about our authentic identity
causes us to fear death - the ultimate annihilation. Hence,
we will end this book with an exploration of our authentic
identity to calm our fears, enabling us to live a full life.
Realizing our highest potential on earth also empowers us
to face the last mile of our journey without regrets. We
lived in peace and now go with peace.
