Synopsis
A superhero baby sitting... 5 children and IT/AI... A space explorer returns but home isn't the same...
The first half of this anthology represents the general writing of the internationally known Blackwood Writers Group, founded by Rob Stephenson and Rob Bleckly. The genre varies largely around Science Fiction and Fantasy, although we also have some members focussed on Historical Fiction, and we have some fables and parody as Flash Fiction. Spanning all kinds of readers, the style and character vary from adult and relationship-oriented stories and Orwellian futures, to precocious empire-building or crime-fighting school kids.
Some of the stories are flash fiction, just a page or two, while others are complete novelettes, while some are extracts from the full novels they grew into.
Out of their Minds was recently announced as a finalist in the 2023 Global Book Awards.
We lost Rob Stephenson in between the last anthology and this one, and his loss placed a pall over us. It was hard to keep going. Then, COVID-2 hit, and it was even harder. But, as you can see, we persisted.
This anthology is thus a memorial to SF author and publisher Robert N Stephenson who died before completing it.
