A MUST READ. Every moment of this tour leaves you breathless! I couldn't put the book down. It felt like living in a movie!
What a fascinating journey in the meanders of human complexity, surrounded by the magical ruins of the Eternal City! I've been to Rome several times, but in this book it's like I've discovered it for the first time! The historical and cultural details are so accurate that I seemed to see it with different eyes. Culture, habits, history, passion, and complicated relationships between adult and teenagers of the group are so realistic. I enjoyed every page, and every day was an adventure. It was intriguing learning about every character's complex emotional and psychological aspects. It was a captivating read. I am not going to anticipate the plot, but I like how the author blends all the good and the bad of the human nature. You have no choice but to empathize with every teenager, including those who didn't appeal to you at first. As every single story develops, the human side of each one emerges, inspiring solidarity and understanding that were previously unthinkable. Nothing is left to chance in this story, including accurate descriptions of dreams connected to actual events. The challenge of this book is to include the existential dramas of adolescents in a youthful context such as the tour of the beautiful Rome. Parenting is the hardest job in the world, and this book reveals that many of the children's complexes are actually caused by the family of origin. Will the magic of Rome be enough to dispel these obstacles? The book is a whirlwind of events that sometimes leave you breathless. At the end of each day, you spontaneously say: who knows what else will happen tomorrow? Imagination blends in with reality, and this book encapsulates this combination in an excellent way. The author accomplished a lot here. I greatly recommend this book, and I can't wait for the next one!
