Synopsis
Have you ever wondered if loved ones who have passed away can still talk to you?
Some years ago, Carol Dashnau LeBarron sought to answer this question, which led her on a journey where, not only did she hear from them, but the messages they shared changed her life forever.
Along the way, she discovered a spiritual awakening that exposed to her a buried trauma that, for fifty seven years, shut down her emotions and her trust in words.
Travel alongside Carol on this journey that is filled with joy, surprises, near-death experiences, overcoming heart-breaking traumas, and experiencing wonder—even some laughs—culminating in a revelation Carol once considered impossible.
Through her recount of these powerful life events, Carol teaches you many ways to open yourself up, so you too may hear from spirit.
My Grandfather’s Gift is an inspiring story of a woman’s ability to find healing. After her parents died, Carol set out on a spiritual journey, finding out through a medium that her late father believed she currently lacked confidence. The journey didn't stop there, and Carol carries on to confront traumas both in her personal life and in her family history.
Not only does Carol confront the historical traumas that she is aware of, but she also discovers hidden abuse, explores her way of living in the world, and changes her career. She leaves an abusive relationship, and does this while searching for deeper meaning in her life and whilst facing her financial fears.
Ultimately, this is a tale of survival, courage, and determination that by itself shows the resilience of the author, but the book also shares her journey towards healing, a journey that includes spiritual awareness, reiki, entheogens, and meditation. Through these journeys, Carol also explored her past lives and understood more deeply her connection to place.
As a reader, going on this astounding journey was a fascinating privilege. Carol both explored alternative ways of being and made peace with the organized religion within which she grew up. She shows the cruelties of power and the freedom to forgive.
Admittedly, this is a book not everyone might be comfortable with. As the writer argues, this is her truth. I would, however, recommend this book for those who are spiritually curious, who long to understand more about divine masculine and feminine, who would love to increase flow within their lives, or who are curious about the spirits who guide us. I would also recommend this book to anyone who is curious about healing traumas and breaking free from an unhappy way of living outside of a conventional therapy room. As a story of courage, this one is outstanding. The lack of bitterness and unusual compassion was staggering.
This is Carol’s journey, and it is certainly inspiring.
