My First Coloring Book by Aloha Pickles features big, easy-to-color pages perfect for little hands. The illustrations have some good detail, but are not overly cluttered, and feature happy scenes from around the farm. The practice words are big enough to see easily, and are great for introducing the alphabet for beginning readers. Each page has been lovingly crafted, and would be a good choice for classrooms, independent learning, or studying with a family member. I liked it that the coloring book features many scenes from the farm, bringing many types of animals to the pages. There is a little bit of everything, from chickens and ponies to an adorable racoon holding an umbrella (for the letter "u"), which is my favorite picture in the book.
The pictures are basic, but charming, and the book is short, but contains a lot of material for its size. This is a wonderful first showing from author Aloha Pickles, and I can't wait to see future coloring books as the author continues to grow.
A great basic introduction to the alphabet through the fun of coloring and exploration, this cute, affordable coloring book is suitable for all ages.
