The book is tailored to young kids, but Missy Moo is an inspiration to all, even adults. She encourages everyone to embrace & love thyself.
Missy Moo is a shaggy, fluffy cow with a crown of ginger curls who is full of cheer and spiritedness, even though she is different and special among the black and white dairy cows around her.
Whether she is dancing in the meadows or in puddles of rain, splashing and playing in the brook or singing sweet songs, she isn’t afraid to be herself and embrace what makes her Missy Moo the Highland Coo.
Highland cows have long, distinctive horns that should make them intimidating, but instead, they are known as the gentle giants of Scotland. Their long, wavy, woolly coats are fluffy and come in a variety of colors, including, but not limited to, red, silver, black, and gray. Missy Moo is a sweet Highland cow whose shaggy coat is a mixture of red and brown and the shining star of this charming picture book.Â
Missy Moo, the Highland Coo, is an energetic cow. She dances like no one is watching, but, believe me, the other cows did notice her bust a move. Her spirits could not be dampened by cold or rainy weather. She enjoyed life, and her joyous attitude was felt all around. As hard as they might, the black and white cows couldn't resist joining her in song.Â
Kids will giggle, watching the cows sing as they march on two hooves across the grassland. Parents and educators will love the illustrations and the wonderful message: embrace what makes you—you. Remember, it's our differences that make us unique and what makes this world such a fascinating place to live and explore.Â
Life is full of negativity. Kids grow up being teased about looking, acting, or dressing from what is considered the norm. Missy Moo is a cow, but she is a role model to our kids. She encourages kids to be themselves, and that's why I recommend parents share this cute, positive picture book with children ages 2 to 6 years.Â
Invite your kids to share a special talent or characteristic that makes them stand out from the crowd. Help them embrace who they are and what they look like, and never let others affect their happiness.Â
This story is (obviously) tailored to young kids, but Missy Moo is an inspiration to all, even adults. Everyone should be more like the Highland Coo: Love yourself, and never be afraid to be you!Â
I've been constructing reviews for over a decade and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Most of the reviews will be featured on my blog (Kam's Place), Pinterest, Instagram, BlueSky, and Goodreads. Don't forget to tip your waitress! :D
