Synopsis

Are you looking to build your resilience to the challenges you face?

Do you like short, powerful stories?

Stories can inspire us, they convey hope and help us find meaning in the things that challenge us. Stories are a great way to connect with others and teach us about ourselves. They can also help us tap into reserves of resilience and mental toughness we didn't know we possess.

This collection of 20 stories will help you do just that.

Read MENTAL TOUGHNESS METAPHORS and let the twenty stories and reflective questions uncover resilience you didn't know you had.

It's like Aesops Fables for the 21st Century.

What’s great about this book is that you can pick it up and put it down whenever you like. You can come back to it when you need it and get something out of it in just a few minutes. You can choose the pick me up you need on any given day. Such a great idea and a welcome relief from long winded, heavy self help books. As a teacher and a parent, I’ll be using much of what I’ve read in this book to help my students and my own children too. I also like that the author has provided the reader with bullet points of things to take away from each story so that you can really make the most of what you’ve read, and questions to consider, so that you can personalise your response to what you’ve read. The range of genres and cultures that the stories span is also part of what makes it inspirational and again part of its charm and suitability for such a wide audience. I defy anyone to read a small handful of these stories and find nothing of value, whether you’re at your rock bottom or whether you’re looking for your next challenge.
