Must read 🏆

Intriguing protagonist, with a storyline that is interesting and action packed. Exciting beginning to a series, masterfully written.

Synopsis

From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Sloane Monroe novels comes a gripping new series about love, loss, murder, and a broken former detective who's about to be drawn out of hiding.

For the past two years, Georgiana "Gigi" Germaine has been living off the grid, until today, when she hears some disturbing news that shakes her. Georgiana's brother-in-law has been murdered, her seven-year-old niece kidnapped. As the hours waste away, Georgiana races back to a town she left behind, and a former life she's still not ready to face.

Book One in this new series from Cheryl Bradshaw is excellent! I anxiously awaited getting to know the protagonist, Georgiana and absolutely love her! She is smart, intuitive and not to be underestimated! She has real flaws, challenges and can speak and act before she thinks at times. I appreciate when a character has those realistic traits. She has a complex history, which is slowly revealed, yet with much more left undiscovered. All that being said, Gigi can kick some serious behinds when needed. She puts her experience and intuition as a former police detective to use while working at a breakneck speed to find her kidnapped niece. She has a multi-layered back story with her family and friends, many of whom are quite intriguing themselves. There is much to be said about this character and those in her life. The author reveals her history gradually, leaving this reader anxiously awaiting more from future books in this series. The storyline is interesting and the action stays riveting. I am completely intrigued by this new character and cannot wait for Book Two - coming early next year, I think. Cheryl Bradshaw has written another fantastic book and the start of what I know will be an incredible series!
