Synopsis
Seventeen-year-old Aly Bennett has been in love with her friend Luke for years. She hasn't told him how she feels for two reasons. 1) She's the girl with HIV. 2) She lied about how she got it.
Aly never meant to lie. The words just slipped out on her first day of a support group for kids living with life-threatening conditions. It was the day she met Luke and Caroline, who would become her best friends and the closest thing she has to a family. After so many years, Aly doesn’t know how to tell her friends the truth. So she paints and she runs and she tries not to think about the future she can’t have.
But when a Boston prosecutor asks Aly to testify in a trial—and her relationship with Luke intensifies—things become complicated. If she testifies, Luke and Caroline will learn the truth—that Aly has been lying to them for most of a decade. If she doesn’t, a monster could go free, again.
Life and other complications is a book which includes love, trust, emotions, and friendship all together. It has really good suspense. Just go for it. it will worth it. This book will trigger the interest of teenagers at most or the people who wants to reminisce their pasts. This book Tells how conflicted it becomes to choose between truth and friendship, the fear of losing friends is great to everybody. And how come one of the character chooses one of them. There was not even a single time I felt bored reading this book. It is a story with good plot and I really appreciate the author for a broader mindset. There will be times where the reader will think this can end up in a good way however everyone have different opinions and for me that was the best. There are many other books about love and friendship however very few of them like this one dealing with love, trust, friendship and morality. This book gives the vast view on how differ can be the mindset of people from each other. Which makes them lieing to their near and dear ones in order to keep their relationship fruitful and happy.
