Legendborn" by Tracy Deonn is a stunning foray into fantasy that revisits the Arthurian myth through a contemporary and highly innovative lens. Set in a modern context, the novel follows Bree Matthews, a young African American who begins her freshman year of college at UNC-Chapel Hill. The story takes an unexpected turn when Bree, devastated by the death of her mother, finds herself drawn into a secret society that harks back to the legendary Knights of the Round Table.
