He let's her know that he is always in her heart.
It is sad to know that some children have to deal with the loss of a loved one. Even as an adult I cannot imagine not having my parents around. Children who have lost a loved will relate to Jazmine. The mixed emotions. The ability not to talk to friends. Missing their loved one and feeling like nothing is the same.
The story felt very real and raw. Children will empathize with Jazmine. Readers will also learn that they can keep the memory their loved ones alive by creating picture albums, celebrating birthdays, and participating in activities their loved ones enjoyed or would have enjoyed. Most importantly, they will learn that it is okay to be happy after a loved one is gone.
