The More you arn to allow God and His grace to be the standard of

right in more your life, the more the Holy Spirit will reveal to you

concerning your calling, despite your circumstances. The more you

learn to walk in the spirit of grace, the more disciplined you will

become in your decision-making. You will make quality personal

decisions in areas of ethics, morals, faith, worship, and many other

areas of your walk with God. Your convictions on matters of discipline

and obedience for your own life will become more rigid, yet clear,

through God's word and His instructions. You will find in this book

that I'm a living testimony that life doesn't always go as planned, yet

Grace wins every time. God loves me, and because of this unearned

love, I want to dedicate my life to His service.

How does God speak? Second Timothy 3:16-17 states, “All

scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,

for correction, for training in righteousness; 17, so that the man of God

may be adequate, equipped for every good work." I start with this

scripture because it is “God-breathed.” His Word sometimes gives us a

warning, a word of encouragement, or a lesson for life. It’s written

with love as God’s guide for life, “so that the man of God may be

adequately equipped for every good work.” That means God is

whispering, and sometimes shouting, through His Word, giving us

instructions, directions, and principles for life. Through the words of

Jesus in scripture we can “hear” God’s heart and God’s voice,

comparing us to sheep and Him as the Shepherd. Jesus says in John

10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow

me.” Through Jesus, and the power of His Holy Spirit, God wants to

speak to us on a one-on-one basis, every single day of our lives. Even

when we can’t hear His voice, God is constantly speaking to us and

giving us direction. So, it’s never God who is not speaking to us, but

it’s we who are not hearing. If you believe that God is not speaking to

you, it’s likely you won’t be able to hear His voice. I’m not referring

to an audible voice in this book when I refer to God speaking to me.

One of the most amazing and fascinating things discovered throughout

history is God can use anyone, anything, or any method He chooses to

convey His message to us. For example: God can use a friend, a

relative, a teacher, a coach, a parent, or a preacher to convey His

message of truth to us. Their words may come to you as a warning, a

blessing, or as a prophetic truth about your life. Then God's Spirit goes

to work and speaks to your conscience. The conscience brings

awareness and knowledge to our minds, which process that

information and from there we make decisions; therefore, it becomes

up to us if we choose to follow His instructions or ignore it. Of course,

these are only a few examples of how God speaks, and I believe God

used this simple game of basketball for His purpose in my life.

Does God still speak through visions and dreams? “In Jesus’

Name I Played” I will reveal some spiritual dreams and visions I had

as a seventh-grader that led me to the scriptures and inspired me to

write this book.

These scriptures taught me how to pray according to God's will,

and this journey has proven to me time and time again the importance

of having a close relationship with Him.

So, what does the Bible say about dreams? Dreams are usually a

symbolism to teach us a life lesson or to give us a futuristic vision of

what’s to come. What kind of stock should Christians place in dreams

in our current day is totally up to the believer and their relationship

with God. This relationship with God is critical in hearing His voice in

every situation and applying His Word to my everyday life, regardless

of where I'm at or what I'm doing. God is not limited to anything; and

this book is living proof that God can do anything he chooses, and that

includes, but is not limited to, speaking through dreams.
