Confusing yet gripping. It's like solving a riddle. Don't hurry and you will get the clues one by one.
Book Review - " I'M TRAVELING ALONE"
🌠: 3.5/5
Samuel Bjork is the pen name of Norweigan novelist Frode Sander Oien. I'm traveling alone is the in his sequence of novels featuring Much and Kruger.
A body of a 6-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree with a tag 'i'm traveling alone. Holger Munch, the chief investigating officer reach his partner Mia Kruger to investigate the case. Mia, an intelligent officer found some hidden clues which gave them the horrific expectation of a serial killer.
This book is a dark, tensing, and confusing read.
😺Things I like :
✒ It points to some social issues we face in society especially children, teens, and women.
✒The story focuses on drug addiction, how family issues affect children and teens negatively. Also, some characters mention how society treats them just because they are homosexual, and women who can't have babies.
✒The scams happening in the name of God and religion is another crime that goes parallel with this case.
😾Things I didn't like:
✏ Recurring sentences and events in various chapters.
✏ Lack of connecting the links. I felt a bit dissatisfied when the author failed to connect the story of the missing baby with the case in detail.
Reading this book was like solving a riddle by connecting the clues scattered all over the chapters. Overall. It is a good gripping thriller. Happy to read. 👍
