a light read and best to read if you are feeling sad. makes you feel like you are there writing those letters
When I read the word pen pal I was tempted to read it.
Hate mail is a story of Naomi, who is excited to write to her pen pal in school and Luca who wants to get rid of her and writes mean things in his letters. Both end up writing mean things and threats to each other even years after their school time. But 2 years ago Luca stop writing, changed his address and Naomi doesn't know where he is until he started writing to her again but this time without any address. Now when she can't write him back she is annoyed and tries to find him with her friend's help. While Naomi is looking for Luca, he confesses his feelings for her and she realizes she is attracted to him in a romantic way. But the problem is she is dating a boy and she likes him too and it's time for her to choose one of them.
I liked the story, writing style was good and captivating. In most of the enemies to lover trop in romance books the banter sometimes becomes forced or irrelevant but this book was perfect. I loved their deadly threats and how these letters were a way for Luca to take out all his frustration without telling her anything. And the beautiful thing was that Naomi was consoling her without knowing she was doing it. Their relation ship was beautiful. It makes you want to have a pen pal too. The whole concept was good.
Overall this book was a good experience for me I enjoyed the relation between Naomi an Luca their bickering felt so natural. In secret I was always rooting for them.
I liked the book and enjoyed it very much it is a light read and best to read if you are feeling sad.
Reading has always been my hobby and eventually I started having various thoughts which I pen down when I read. I already write reviews for my personal blog and Instagram. It will be fun writing reviews for reedsy.
