A collection of deep and moving poems and epigrams that attempt to encompass all that it is to be human – a feeling soul.
The segments feel like diary entries of different human experiences. There are references in the writing for characters and locations from all over the world, stressing the connectedness between all places and times and people.
The book tells different stories of love; love for the world, love for the past, love for the future, love for others, and love for one’s self. And it does so very poetically that the readers are bound to feel the warmth of the author’s love seeping through.
The poems also speak of transcending all that is merely materialistic, being open to the world and its miracles, prioritizing comfort and living in gratitude instead of chasing fleeting joys, the beauty of brief interactions, the importance of giving in to what can’t be controlled and just being present for the ride.
The book also acknowledges that no one is perfect, but that doesn’t stop life from being so. It also addresses all sorts of feelings in the simplest of ways as well as it highlights the need to be there for yourself.
The poems do appear to be disconnected without following any particular theme, but the randomness of it all is perhaps the point as it just goes with the flow with whatever the writer was feeling.
Some might find some of the writing confusing or out of the blue, but others might find it an exact wording for what they experience or go through, and reaching hearts – even if it is just one person’s heart – is the whole point of this form of art.
I recommend this book to all lovers of poetry or abstract thoughts that want to feel connected to someone – or the whole world.
