The artist's rendering of the events will have readers laughing if they weren't already chuckling from the hysterical text.
A 46 Page graphic novel for children. The world has only 30 years of air left and scientists clamber to find a solution. One eminent scientist has a theory, but it would mean the elimination of most of the animals on earth. The only person who may be able to save the world and all the animals has been exiled with his family to a distant farm, as his idea is completely unbelievable. Can Professor Aarty convince everyone that his invention using the farts of animals to make fresh air is the only way to ensure they have a future.
Scientists claim that about 1 billion years from now, some cataclysmic event will rob the planet of oxygen, wiping out all life. What if, for fictional purposes, Earth's inhabitants face annihilation within the next 30 years due to the exact cause of death: no more oxygen? We must act now to survive doomsday.
The Prime Minister has publicized a set of rules for survival. First, the days of using electricity are over. Second, only government-approved vehicles are permitted. Third, they are enforcing a 100% burn ban. Only a specific non-toxic candle is allowed for cooking and heating. These rules are strict, but the alternative equals the existence of everything.
Professor Foswick Aarty lives with his family on F.Aarty's Farm. There, he has a very unusual solution to the world's problem. He believes his secret formula, in combination with the farts of animals and a lot of baked beans, could create fresh air, replenishing the world's air supply. I was not surprised other scientists had a strong opinion on the matter. However, Dr. Eva's Loushon's counter-solution was shocking! Now, Aarty has three important missions: save the animals, stock up on baked beans, and save the planet! Thank goodness his family was there to help with all three projects!
Whether you are one or a hundred and one, gassy situations are funny. I can't imagine someone not finding humor in the gas-filled chicken eggs fired off like missiles. The armed and ready chicken butt left me shaking my head and smiling. Children will have a very strong reaction to the amusing illustrations. The drawings of the pigs dangling upside down, as their gassy fumes inflated the multi-colored bags, gave new meaning to "when pigs fly."
The author's and F.Aarty's unusual solution to saving Earth was an out-of-the-box idea that will captivate the audience. The artist's rendering of the events will have readers laughing if they weren't already chuckling from the hysterical text. I loved the newspaper headlines, the bonus material updating readers on what happened to the three key members of the Aarty family after they saved the day, and the comic book as a whole.
F.Aarty. A Legend is a hilarious, family-friendly comic book that needs to be made into a series with every invention wackier than the last!
I've been constructing reviews for over a decade and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Most of the reviews will be featured on my blog (Kam's Place), Pinterest, Instagram, BlueSky, and Goodreads. Don't forget to tip your waitress! :D
