Worth reading 😎

A sexy and enjoyable sequel to this fun kinky series, although the first book is still unmatched

I had such a fun time reading this sequel and it definitely delivered on its promise to include even more spicy scenes. There were a lot of interesting smutty scenes which was fun to read. Unfortunately, there were a few issues with the book which decreased my overall enjoyment, considering my love for book one, Praise.

Garrett and Mia were very strong and distinct characters, and I did enjoy reading from both of their perspectives. I was very gripped in the first part of the novel, but I found that the spark and sexual chemistry fell apart after the halfway point. I think this was because the sexual tension was more interesting and exciting compared to the smut itself.

As compared to Charlie and Emerson from the first novel, Garrett and Mia's sexual and romantic connection was less distinct and developed. I similarly found the tropes and kinks in Eyes on Me less enjoyable, as the step-sibling and voyeurism weren't as exciting in my opinion. If those tropes seem like your cup of tea, this book will absolutely be for you! I just personally enjoyed the kinks in Praise more.

I know you aren't reading this book for the plot, so I won't talk about this for too long. Where I found Praise to be an exciting and engaging mix of fun, unique sex scenes and a detailed plot, Eyes on Me, unfortunately, fell flat. Reading through the novel, I didn't find myself being too concerned about the outcome of the novel, the personal issues that the two characters were facing, or what was happening overall. There were absolutely some aspects of the novel which were more engaging, particularly the look at mental health towards the end of the novel, but the book relied primarily on the sexual scenes to move the book forward. Whilst I understand that this type of book requires a smut-heavy focus, I prefer novels that have a great mix between spice and plot so that I feel more attached to the characters.

Overall, this was definitely worth picking up, especially if step-sibling tropes or voyeurism seems interesting. I would absolutely be interested in reading more books by Sara Cate and will be continuing with the third book when it releases later in the year.
