This is a good book for a light read, but it doesn't take a single route. You already know the ending by the second chapter.
Everyone has a story is a story about a chance encounter in a cafe, in a familiar city, something that can happen to any of us. It tells a very human story, of two people, Meera and Vivaan, how they met, and their story. There are two more characters in it : Kabir and Nisha. But they are mostly secondary characters they act as a buffer, when the story has nowhere to go.
I picked up this book for a light read, and that is exactly what it is. There is nothing heavy, and neither are there any twists in it, that you didn't see coming. You can guess the ending by the second chapter, at least I did. It gives the impression more of a short story, than a novel, kind of in disguise. Judging by the size of the book, and the number of blank pages it leaves, it actually should be half the size.
The good part that I liked about it was that it tells the story from two perspectives. It should have explored more on that front. Although we get a good insight into Meera's thoughts, Vivaan's thoughts leave something to be desired, even after we get to read his thoughts.
Turning the back of the page, the review reads "How four lives get entangled in a cafe". But honestly there is no entanglement, no evil lurking around, no villain. The book just shows that there is no need for a story to have a villain, sometimes people jeopardize themselves, just by having misunderstandings about themselves, and their life, and the people in it.
The book does show how there are two types of people in the world, the ones who have high hopes and dreams, and the ones that believe in running away from their thoughts and themselves because life dealt them the toughest hand. And there is nothing wrong in being either of them.
While reading this, please keep in mind that this is a love story, and that is it. Nothing more, nothing less.
I have always been a fan of stories. Be it fiction or non fiction. Books have not only given me an escape, but also hope, joy, sadness, and a plethora of feelings. Characters, have made me realize bigger things in life. They have always been a source of inspiration for me.
