Dudley's colorful predicament will produce a fun discussion on what lollipop flavor your child would like to see the cows eat next.
A 32 page illustrated book for children with fun cartoon illustrations. Dudley Dilbar dreamed that one day he would have "Dudley's Pasteurized Milk" written on the labels of his milk bottles, but his farm was far too small for the milk tankers to call upon.
How would a very lazy man, a lolly truck and Dudley's cows make his dream come true?
Dudley Dilbar owned the smallest dairy farm in the district but dreamt of running a larger farm like his neighbors. He wanted the milk tankers to pick up his milk supply and take it to the factory for pasteurization. The dairy farmer wished to see "Dudley's Pasteurized Milk" on a label. Even though Dudley said he was content with his small operation, it was apparent he wasn't. He wanted to scale his operation and sell to more than only to Joe Walsh's Supermarket.
Dudley oversaw every aspect of his business, but his neighbors didn't see all the hard work, the long hours he put in. Instead, they laughed at his size. Dudley's dream was almost thwarted due to unforeseen developments; however, instead of throwing in the towel, Dudley brainstormed ideas to save his farm. Determination and hard work go a long way in life. Dudley didn't let a setback deter him from his life's goal, and even though this story is fiction, his actions were inspirational.
Dudley Dilbar's Dairy Farm by Trevor Allan had a fun plot that children three years and up will love, and I don't blame them. Who wouldn't find cows eating strawberry-flavored lollipops and creating same-flavored milk enjoyable? Or mint? Or a blend of many flavors?
Dudley's colorful predicament will produce a fun discussion on what lollipop flavor your child would like to see the cows eat next and, with it, what dream milk flavor they'd like to consume. You could also discuss flavor combinations they'd create, from wacky to ordinary.
After reading this sweet story, I recommend having a lollipop and a glass of milk nearby because your child might want both. They might also want to take a trip to a dairy farm. That would make an idea a great field trip. This book would be an excellent addition to a school or home library.
I've been constructing reviews for over a decade and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Most of the reviews will be featured on my blog (Kam's Place), Pinterest, Instagram, Goodreads, and X (formerly Twitter.) Don't forget to tip your waitress! :D
