Loved it! 😍

Wild, unpredictable, hilarious family dynamics, second chance romance and a murder at a wedding

Dial A for aunties

I won’t lie to you I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book. But it genuinely surprised me there were so many moments where I actually laughed out loud

“Oh, right, it’s the lack of fruit that’ll bring shame, not the dead body in the car.”

“Maybe we can chop him up, cook some curry, then throw away bit by bit?”

“Catfish,” I say. “No, I’m sure is call goldfish. Because pretend got gold, but actually just a fish.”

and there were many important life lessons too

“Maybe one day you want eat eggplant, but then another day you don’t want, is okay you change mind.”

“I told you to buy Glad brand. Haven’t you seen their ads? Glad bags will hold his cut-up body just fine, no leaks!”

“You’re not a mess. You just kill by accident only. Bad luck. Can happen to anyone.”

but no I did genuinely relate to one para

This is what always happens when one of my generation dares to talk back to our parents. They band together and reduce us to kids having a tantrum, dismissing our words so we can’t pierce their armor. Part of me wants to kick crazily at the ground and scream until they listen, but of course that’ll only confirm their belief that I’m nothing more than a silly child.

But everything aside I recommend this book to all asians cuz some sentences you can relate to so much. I will admit the storyline is sort of all over the place but it’s honestly so refreshing, keep logic aside and just read this and go on the incredible and incredulous journey ie this book.

I loved the family dynamics and there were times when I was like what did I just read but it felt good to be surprised like that.

I don’t want to spoil anything but honestly just go read it, give this book a chance. I highly recommend it if you need a pick me up.

So honestly for the incredulity and humor factor alone it deserves a 4/5.

This book might not be enjoyed for everyone but I’m SURE it will surprise everyone.
