I thought this poetry book was well written, beautifully arranged and I loved the poems seemed to tell a story.
The journey through a year can be painful and difficult.
We fall and we keep falling. We seem to improve and then we fall behind.
We are broken and we are breathing.
Broken and Breathing is about the journey that we go on and the seasons where we experience love and life. The four parts of the illustrated poetry book tackle four parts of a journey. Broken and Breathing depicts how we can relate our experiences and emotions to the four parts.
Poetry is one of my favourite things to write and to read. I am always astounded at the talent people have with words. I thought this poetry book was well written, beautifully arranged and I loved the poems seemed to tell a story.
The book is spilt into 4 parts; valleys, deserts, hills and caves. Each section focuses on the emotions and experiences we go through on our journey of life. The poems were structured in a way that was easy to understand and each poem flowed on to the next, as if we were being told a story.
I, however, didn’t enjoy the illustrations, but to be honest that may just my personal preference.
Overall, the writing was excellent and I felt connected with many of the poems. I’m excited to discover more by this author.
